The world has conditioned us to believe that we must have sex in our relationships. If we don’t, we are missing out on a good thing. According to 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and you are to glorify God with it.
Your body belongs to God, it is not for sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:13). God’s intention is that we will glorify Him with our bodies and devote them for His kingdom. For God to use us mightily for His purposes, we are to consecrate ourselves to Him. One way we can do this is through celibacy, where we wait until marriage to experience sex. Celibacy is a call to go beyond abstinence and make a promise or vow to God to wait until marriage to engage in sex, which was His original intent.
