The world has conditioned us to believe that we must have sex in our relationships. If we don’t, we are missing out on a good thing. This is regardless of God’s truth of experiencing sex within the marriage covenant. Engaging in sex outside of marriage is sexual sin and a dishonor to God. According to 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and you are to glorify God with it.
Your body belongs to God, it is not for sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:13). God’s intention is that we will glorify Him with our bodies and devote them for His kingdom. For God to use us mightily for His purposes, we are to consecrate ourselves to Him. One way we can do this is through celibacy, where we wait until marriage to experience sex. Celibacy is a call to go beyond abstinence and make a promise or vow to God to wait until marriage to engage in sex, which was His original intent.
7 Reasons to be Celibate Until Marriage outlines the transformation you experience by obeying God’s word to keep sex in its rightful place – marriage. It covers the following topics:
- Surrendering Your Sexuality to God
- Celibacy vs Abstinence
- Healing From the Consequences of Sexual Sin
It includes a prayer at the end to surrender your sexuality to God.
